Marilyn Talbot and I grew up on the same block on Roosevelt Street. She was my best childhood friend, along with Kathy Marsh. We were kind of "tomboys" back then. We loved to build forts in the "empty lots" (remember them!) or play in the new construction homes (remember that!) We loved to go on Ford property and roam in the woods, play in the sand, climb trees, and find polywogs in the swamps. We spent the entire summer together swimming at Whitmore Bolles pool and going to both Girl Scout camp and Camp Dearborn. We left Whitmore Bolles School in the 4th grade to go to St. Sebastians School. We remained close friend thru the 8th grade. We went our seperate ways in high school but always kept our childhood bonds. I thought about Marilyn many times over the years and wish I knew more about her life after high school.
