I'm sorry to know of Caren's passing. It was a joy to get reacquainted with her the past few years at our reunions. She was always fun to talk with--a real "upper" with her sweet, cheerful outlook. Am I right about Caren being the January 1991 Class Valedictorian? Or is my memory failing? (no surprise)
Anyway, Caren was a brilliant student who accomplished much academically while retaining her cool while others of us "sweated" through our exams. It isn't surprising that she enjoyed a career as a professor at UM.
I didn't know Caren well enough to say whether she was a believer destined for heaven, but I sure hope she was. If so, I can look forward to having eternity to "catch up" when it's my time to go.
If Caren's family reads this, please know I'm praying for you as you walk through this valley. May you find peace and comfort that only comes from God.

We are All going through an unpresidented situation with this COVID-19 virus and I can only believe God has a plan for allowing all of us for enduring this incredible situation. Hopefully, many people will find a belief in Jesus and look forward to another life rather than oblivion.
Caren was a delightful person, always interesting and positive. After she moved back to Michigan from Arizona we would meet for lunch on occasion and in June we would go to Cinetopia in Ann Arbor. I could always rely on her selecting outstanding movies. The last few years Ed and I would meet Caren for lunch in Ann Arbor at various places as she also knew of great places to eat. I truly enjoyed getting to know her, she was a very inspiring person. She will be missed.
Caren and I began our lifelong friendship in kindergarten....on to EF High School, University of Michigan, Gamma Phi Beta, attendant in her wedding, and years of Christmas cards. She retired from the University of Arizona to Ann Arbor and we we able to reconnect in person. Her declining health was felt with with optimism. A brave woman. She was a brilliant, intelligent, facinating, and a wonderful lifetime friend. I will miss our catch up sessions! May she rest in peace.
