Gary* Guichard

1965 - June - Graduated from MSU after a couple of years at HFCC and went back to work on Evans Products' sheet metal presses
- September 26 - Married Susan Wisneiwski
- October 5 - Started my career as stylist at American Motors
- October 15-ish - We moved into our new apartment in Allen Park
- Mid-November - Bought my first new car
- December 24 (Christmas Eve) - Received "Greetings" (Draft Notice) from Uncle Sam
(Could've done without that last part)

'66 - '68 - Served in the Army (Artillery), the last 18 months or so as Training NCO at Fort Hood, TX
1968 - Back to work as stylist for AMC, Chrysler, DaimlerChrysler, and at times with Renault and Mitsubishi
1976 - Adopted Michelle
1981 - Adopted Bradley
2005 - Retired from DaimlerChrysler Design Office (they think it sounds better than "Styling")
2019 - Sold the downstate digs, then sold the Black Lake place and bought our current permanent home on the lake about a mile to the south with better lot and frontage.

During this time we've done some traveling, with a bunch of camping, boating, and houseboating thrown in. Rode various motorcycles for 25 years. Got bored with that and bought an old 'Vette to customize. Played Over-40 hockey 'til my knees went south. Now Susan and I divide our time between Linden, where we can visit the kids and grandkids, and Black Lake, where they can visit us and we can go fishing, boating, etc. Susan is an avid quilter while I keep busy fishing, doing a little stained glass, and helping out at the Cheboygan County Animal Shelter. All in all, we've had a pretty good time for the past mumbledy-some years. Hopefully, we'll be able to keep it up for a few more.


Also, I was saddened to see too many old friends listed here as having passed away, and now my sister-in-law, Sharon, has been added to the list. Most of the names came as a surprise, and some actually shocked. I wanted, and felt I needed, to post a brief tribute to those whom I recall most clearly and fondly. Even though I haven't seen them for so many years, I know they're all sorely missed. The Earth is a poorer place for their passing and they deserve to be acknowledged. - Gary

Hmmmm. I guess fond memories of Original Joseph's for pizza after sporting events. Also caroling in the snow with the choir group and a winter trip to Sharon Drew's (now Sharon Smith) family place one year (if memory serves).
